IT Graduate Scheme
Information Technology is the central nervous system of our £8.2 billion gross sales.
Retailing is a fascinating and diverse business operating in a highly competitive and challenging environment. IT underpins every aspect of the retail life cycle and, when used in an innovative way, offers great opportunities to differentiate ourselves from our competitors.
The combination of retail and IT provides an extremely interesting and rewarding career opportunity and a platform to build your career in many directions.
Join our IT Graduate Scheme and you can look forward to a breadth of training experiences designed to give you a solid foundation on which to build a rewarding long-term career:
- You will develop your business skills and knowledge in a range of technical and non technical areas as well constantly broadening your understanding of retail and seeing the impact that IT has on our operations
- Our graduates can progress along the programming or analysis route, in addition you can move into project management.
Things to bear in mind
- You’ll be based in central London or Bracknell.
- Our IT group is split into three major groups. John Lewis and Waitrose Systems develop and support computer systems used in John Lewis department stores and Waitrose food shops respectively. The third, Computer Services, develops and manages our shared technical infrastructure and provides common systems such as Personnel and Finance used across the whole Partnership.
- You don’t need an IT-related degree but should have or expect to graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree in any discpline and GCSE Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent.
